You know family time is important, but sometimes it's difficult fitting it in and involving every member of the family. I am going to share with you three sure-fire tips that will keep all of your kids home and happy for a successful family movie night. So, here it is:
1. SNACKS: This is the most important tip of all. This will make or break your movie night. Even if the movie is total garbage, the night can be saved with a few tasty treats. I know you have a Pinterest board filled with yummy goodies on it, so go and pick out a recipe or two and get busy in the kitchen! Bonus: This is another great way to get involved with your kids and get some quality time in. Kids love throwing stuff together in the kitchen, especially when they get to devour it later on.
2. THE MOVIE: Alright, I hear ya', having your kids pick out a movie might be the reason for the start of WWIII. Have everyone pick out the movie title that they wish to watch, write it on a piece of paper, throw it in a hat & pluck out one of the votes. You can also draw straws or make a rotating chart. Shoot, if you only have two kids, you might be able to handle watching two different movies in one night!
3. LOCATION: Choose a location in your house that will have a comfy spot for everyone. If you have five kids, it might not be an awesome idea to have everyone pile in your bed because someone's foot is bound to touch someone's leg and then BAM, your successful family movie night just went up in smoke. I suggest going to the living room or den, throw down some oversized blankets and pillows and let your family sprawl out.
I hope these tips inspire you to have your own family movie night because this is something that your kids can look back on and smile about. Get out there and make some memories, people!
